yesterday's songs

One thing (probably the only thing) that I miss about my previous job is the single private bathroom. There were only about 15 people max in the building, and we had two single bathrooms, each with it's own sink and fan and everything. I took it for granted. Now I'm stuck in a stall just like everyone else, three feet away from the next person doing their thing, whether I want to hear it or not. I've tried to time it - I know there's a rush around 10AM, and then another one in the afternoon, but it never fails that someone walks in at an inopportune time. I don't quite remember how we handled it in the co-ed bathrooms in the dorms; I guess we just dealt with it (or maybe we were just too intoxicated to care); we were younger and less self-conscious maybe?

We watched Garden State again this weekend. I remembered that it was really good but I had forgotten how heavy it was the first time I saw it. The first time we saw it, down in a hotel room in Cali while visiting my parents for Thanksgiving, we couldn't sit still afterwards, stuck at the Marriott. We couldn't think of anything to do so we ended up driving aimlessly around the OC until the wee hours of the morning. It was so appropriate that I saw it back "home"; I think that part hit me more than anything.

While watching a football game yesterday I finished my vest! YAY! The first real garment that I can actually wear not on my head! I'm pretty excited. It's drying right now - I hope the kitties don't tear it apart... I'll post up a picture for y'all to see soon. (I know you probably don't care that I knitted a vest, but I'm proud, dammit!)

And did no one recognize the Brain Candy quotes??? I'm outraged. It's funny funny stuff. Go see it. Now. Really.

Thank you! I'm glad someone cares. I'll post it as soon as I get back to the West.
