best field location ever

this is taken from our staging area on day 5, when it started to rain...

pretty nice, eh? well i'm back in seattle now for a few days after some issues came up out in the field, but we're heading back out there next monday. we had three days of amazing weather (cold foggy mornings clearing to 70 degrees and blue skies in the afternoons), then day 4 had a small turn towards overcast, and days 5 and 6 were quite cold and rainy. hopefully we'll get lucky next week.

this is probably one of my favorite projects yet. it sucks being away from home for so long but the work is intersting and challenging, and we are doing some good for the environment. there are some very cool rocks out there too.

i can't quite figure out how to put more than one picture on a post, so we'll have to wait for more.
