a lack of color

So this weekend, after a year and a half of talking about how bad it looked, we finally painted the entryway/stairwell/hallway. And although I am a big fan of color, we decided to go with white, in order to not look crappy against any new color we decide to paint the downstairs. It is such a huge improvement. The people that lived there before us used about three different shades of white all on one wall, and didn't bother to try to edge or blend or make it look good in the least. It was a lot of work, but we're finally done and it looks fabulous.
