M: woody's romantic thriller

In Paris, there were ads for this movie, Match Point, all over the place. The billboards on the streets made it seem like a cute romantic Woody Allen comedy. We even saw a preview for it over there and it seemed a little suspensful, but still overall a cute romantic comedy.

Then today I get this in my inbox from Netflix:

As someone who enjoyed Lost in Translation, we thought you'd like to know that Match Point opens soon in a theater near you.

Tennis pro Chris (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers) gets mixed up with the darker side of high society in this suspenseful drama with a Hitchcockian flair. Chris is befriended by a wealthy family and falls for femme fatale Nola (Scarlett Johansson). But a clandestine affair involving another woman leaves Chris wondering if murder is the only way out of the tight spot he's in. Matthew Goode and Emily Mortimer co-star in director Woody Allen's thriller.

Hmmm... Not so much a romantic comedy now, eh? And a "Woody Allen thriller"? I didn't realize there could be such a thing.

I just hope that we'll get some more hits now with people searching for a "woody thriller." ;)

And this just in, you really must check out the Chronic of Narnia SNL rap. It's really pretty funny. Good Friday time-wasting entertainment.
