M: as B likes to say... Yarrrrrrrrrrrn!
Once upon a time I blogged about knitting. Just a little. Enough though that I felt justified in putting the blog up on the "members knitting blogs" list with my knitting group.
If you look back, however, you'll see that there has been very little knitting content and I have since pulled the blog from the list. Which makes me a little sad, but I don't think I was getting a whole lot of hits from being up there in the first place.
I'm thinking that this post may warrant my placement back up on the list.
Look! Knitting!
The blob of lace in front is the infamous Leaf Lace Shawl, which once finished and blocked, will (hopefully) turn out like this. I'm using 3 balls of Rowan Cashsoft 4 ply, which is just absolutely dreamy to work with. I think I'm about 2/3 of the way done, as I just finished the second ball. It seemed to go really fast at the beginning but now I'm getting a bit frustrated as each row is taking longer and longer - it's shocking when I only get 6 rows done during an entire movie...
The yummy Noro Silk Garden Lite in the background will one day soon turn into a Clapotis (hmmm... can anyone say "bandwagon"?). It was a gift from my folks during a visit to a wacky high-society yarn store in the OC.
And then there was the Main Street Yarn sale last weekend.
I don't think I did too bad... There's some Filatura Di Crosa Portofino yarn for my mom's birthday (it's a cotton/viscose blend - she can't do wool). I taught her to knit last time I was down there and she really seems to like it, but has a hard time choosing yarn. I hope she likes it.
The two balls of Cascade Superwash in the back were going to be a hat for B but he doesn't really like the color of the orange, so he'll get just the gray and I'll make some stuff for the little one with the orange. And the green on the right is some Cotton Classic, also turning into stuff for the little one.
Note the neutral colors? We won't find out for another month if its a boy or girl. Which is too bad, because there's another sale this weekend, and it would be nice to stock up.
And really, what knitting post would be complete without a picture of a critter?
Kitty is pretty sure that all yarn purchases are really for her, and thus she should be included in all discussions of said yarn.
Clearly.

I'm late on the Clapotis bandwagon, too, and making my typical stunning progress. :-) Only 3 more years at current stitch rates.
And they try to vote me off that list every time I post about fish, so I say be strong and keep your name up. :-)
Thanks! I'll have to re-add my name to the list. And I think you may beat me on the Clapotis... You're one step ahead of me, having cast on and all!
