M: what did the elephant say to the naked guy?

Sure it’s cute, but can you really breathe through that thing?

B and I aren’t big movie-going people. We generally find the whole big-screen experience to be overrated, so unless there’s super cool special effects or big fun action sequences (any eye candy in general), we wait for it to come out on Netflix, and get it for “free.” (Unless the movie is playing at the Big Picture, which is the coolest movie theatre around, so go there and enjoy an adult beverage and the super-comfy posturpedic seats.)

So this weekend, when we decided that Saturday night would be a good time for a movie, we found ourselves trying to decide between Superman and Pirates. And while we are both big fans of pirates in general, neither of us were too excited for either of those.

However, upon B’s suggestion, and keeping with our efforts of social responsibility, we decided to support Garrison Keillor and A Prairie Home Companion. It was great. GK and Kevin Kline (as Guy Noir) were fabulous. Even Lindsay Lohan seemed to pull off her part. We were, however, the youngest people in the room (by at least 15 years). And the older folks didn’t seem to laugh as much as we did. I thought the elephant joke was hilarious (especially when told by Woody Harrelson dressed as a cowboy).

Be well, do good work, and keep in touch.
